Middle Grounds

Located in Brighton against the backdrop of the UK housing crisis, ‘Middle Grounds’ confronts the enduring legacy of post-war suburban planning to propose alternative housing typologies for the city’s burgeoning periphery.

Timber-constructed rooms suspended above internal terraces frame a series of uninterrupted voids that 'cascade' down the slope, providing each unit with a distinct, topographically responsive identity.
